Common questions
We get asked a number of wedding photography questions when we meet our couples for the first time, so we thought we'd jot a few of these down and add them here for all to see!
How long have you been photographing Weddings for?
eXpression started in 2005 with another photographer, who then left to start a family so Rachel stepped in as the second photographer and we’ve never looked back! We love working together as a husband and wife photography team! As a married couple we realize and remember the importance of a wedding day and what it’s all about! We know each other intimately and work together seamlessly to provide you with the best photographs and service money can buy!
Why do you offer two photographers? What’s the advantage of having two over one?
We offer a single photographer package for mid weeks (as these weddings are generally smaller and have smaller budgets|) with the option to upgrade to a second photographer, and 2 photographers at the weekends!
No matter how talented a photographer is, he really can’t be in 2 places at once, which is where Rachel & I have the advantage over single photographers! Not only can you get photographs of the bride and groom simultaneously getting ready in the morning, but also photographs from both the front and back of the church/ceremony, lots of natural reportage whilst the other photographer is taking the family / portrait shots, and also a different perspective on couple shots using a different lens, angle or setting, which can give you 2 entirely different shots!
Inevitably, you will also end up with more photographs to choose from!
What area and venues do you cover in your wedding photography?
We offer coverage primarily in and around the Hertfordshire & Essex counties, although we regularly hop into Cambridgeshire and London and have also gone further afield to Bristol, Oxfordshire and Surrey!
Our regular venues include Parklands, Quendon Park, Hanbury Manor, Gaynes Park, Fanhams Hall, Manor of Groves, Maiden’s Barn, Down Hall, Sopwell House, the Reid Rooms, Ware Priory, Hylands House, Churchgate Hotel Harlow, Theobalds Park, Ponsbourne Park, Coltsfoot Country Retreat, Sheene Mill and a few more! You can view our portfolio albums from many of these venues or see work from each in the venues section on our website!
What does being a preferred supplier mean?
We photograph weddings at many of the top Herts and Essex venues and regularly get our work published in magazines. Some venues also use our work to promote themselves through our imagery either on their websites or promotional materials as we have produced beautiful and stunning work during real wedding shoots.
It is for this reason that they choose us to be part of their preferred supplier team. The venues we work with know us personally; they have met us, reviewed our work, know we know and respect their venue and have confidence in both our work ethic and the photography we produce.
We are currently on the preferred supplier list at Parklands, Quendon Park, Gaynes Park, Hanbury Manor, Maiden’s Barn and Stansted Manor.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day? How will this affect my wedding photographs?
A good photographer will be able to handle any weather condition! We have photographed in rain, hale, snow, sun, fog… you name it and you can see examples of each in our wedding portfolio! You can’t guarantee the weather on your wedding day, but by keeping a big smile on your face, you can ensure that you still get some amazing shots! Choosing a venue which is equally as beautiful inside as it is out will also help.
How can we meet you?
We offer evening appointments to fit in with your work schedules and occasionally weekends if we’re not photographing weddings! You can also meet us at a variety of wedding fayres including Parklands, Hanbury Manor, Hatfield House, Ware Priory and The Node. Please check the section on wedding fairs for more information or contact us to arrange an appointment.
