Real Wedding Story in An Essex Wedding Magazine!

We were delighted this month to hear that Sophie & Ryan’s Wedding from the Reid Rooms made it to a ‘Real Wedding’ story in An Essex Wedding Magazine.

Sophie & Ryan got married earlier this year and although it was a pretty wet day, we did manage to get outside for some of the photo’s and we’re so pleased we did as they were such a lovely couple!

Anyway, incase you haven’t got a copy of the magazine, here’s the feature! We love it!

Azadeh & Khalid’s Wedding Photography at Sir Christopher Wren’s House & Hotel in Windor

Azadeh & Khalid chose the stunning Sir Christopher Wren’s House & Hotel in Windsor, Berkshire for their beautiful wedding and reception.

I spent the morning with Azedeh and the girls getting ready upstairs and immediately found friends amongst the girls! Mark met with a slightly nervous Khalid in the bar with his best man and between us we captured the morning before the ceremony. The civil ceremony was beautiful and overlooking the Thames river, which then followed with some beautiful photographs along the river bank and bridge overlooking the venue! There are lots of lovely shots from this wedding, but below are a few of our favourites! We felt truly welcomed at this wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the many photographic opportunities including candy floss for the kids, belly dancing in the evening, the array of brightly coloured outfits and the general happiness of the day!

Thanks so much to the lovely couple and their beautiful daughter, who played a big part in their photographer selection!

Jo & Richard’s Wedding Photography at the Manor of Groves Hotel

Jo & Richard chose the beautiful Manor of Groves for their July Wedding and reception, and in contrast to the last time we were there (with snow up to our ankles!) the day was the hottest of the year!

We arrived to a very cool and calm Jo, getting ready in the bridal suit with her 2 bridesmaids and the 2 mums! I stayed with Jo, whilst Mark went to find a slightly more nervous Richard in the bar (of course!) and we each took photographs of the two of them before the ceremony! We find it’s a great time in the morning to take some really lovely natural shots and one of my favourites of Jo is a calm moment applying her lippy just before we went down to the ceremony, and a nice one of Richard looking out of the window and towards the outdoor ceremony.

The couple got married outside in the beautiful sunshine and I love the very romantic pictures from the back. From the other direction Mark was able to capture the bright blue skies and the look on both the couples and guests faces as the couple exchanged their vows! Another great reason for having 2 photographers!

After the ceremony, the couple had their reception drinks outside and we took a few very relaxed pictures in and around the grounds of the Manor of Groves. Below are a few favourites, including this funny one of Jo revealing her Tottenham Hotspurs blue garter, which caused much hilarity, especially to the contrasting supporters!

We stayed on to cover the speeches, which were both emotional and hilarious at the same time! A truly fantastic day with a really happy and friendly couple – we wish them both every happiness in their marriage and future together.

Karen & Christopher’s Butterfly Wedding!

Karen & Christopher had a beautiful May day for their butterfly themed Wedding!

We met with Chris and the boys at the pub adjacent to the Church, where the guys were relaxing with a beer or two before the ceremony and to welcome their guests for the big day! We took lots of reportage shots around the pub and a few at the church before the guys headed inside and we waited for Karen’s arrival!

Karen, her Dad and bridesmaids pulled up in style in vintage cars and following a lovely ceremony, Mark conveniently stole Karen & Christopher for a few minutes for photographs at the back of the church, whilst Karen’s Dad and I arranged a formation of guests for their surprise butterfly release! The couple were surprised and delighted at the gift from their family, although as the old saying goes – “never work with kids and animals….” as the butterflies didn’t want to play ball! We caught a few in action though and one stayed around and was happy enough on Karen’s bouquet for us to take a few quick shots and throw the confetti, before it flew away!

We then headed back to the Churchgate hotel in Old Harlow for their reception drinks and a few more photos before welcoming the happy couple into the banquetting Hall for their wedding breakfast!

A really lovely couple, so obviously in love! Congrats to them both and we wish them every happiness!

1st Portrait Session for Newborns!

For many years we have been asked to do portrait work, but haven’t really had the time to do them in addition to our weddings, but I finally gave in this week and did our first newborn portrait session, which I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed!

Our aim with all our photography is to keep it natural and with newborns, this is all the more essential, so I went armed with my kit and a few blankets and took some really lovely pictures of baby Amelie using purely natural light, no flash or studio equipment and all in the comfort of their own home!

I’m really pleased with the results and I’ve put together a few of my favourites below!

A lovely thank you letter from Jenny & Colin!

Filed under: Uncategorized — expression @ 10:28 pm

It’s always great to get emails from our clients with feedback from their day, but this email is one of my favourites from a really lovely couple, whose wedding we shot last month at Sheene Mill! Big thanks to Jenny & Colin for their kind words!

Hi Mark and Rachel,

We hope you are both well and thank you for your e.mail. We had a wonderful honeymoon thank you.

WOW we absolutely love the Photo’s, they are absolutely fantastic and you have done a really amazing job of capturing our day exactly how we wanted, we are truly delighted with them. We knew when we met you we had picked the right photographers but now we have the pictures it has even more confirmed our certainty, they really are exactly what we were hoping for of style and choice. Oh my goodness what a difficult choice we have to narrow them down for the album.

We can’t thank you enough for all your hard work so far. On the day you were so wonderful, friendly, made us feel relaxed and comfortable and we have had some lovely comments from our guests about how good you were and what a lovely couple you are. You managed to get everywhere and take such a great variety of shots of us and the guests but at the same time being soo professional and then also discreet.

You really have gone above and beyond an exceptional service, thank you soo very much from us both. It was such a pleasurable experience to have you do our wedding photography.

I really just wanted to send this note to acknowledge what you have done so far and I know once we have made out choices for the album you still have an awful lot more work to do, all of which we really are so grateful for.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Best regards

Jenny & Colin
xx

p.s. If I can repeat any of this or you would like to use it on your testimonial page then please do because we can’t praise you enough and I just hope you get a sense from this of how over the moon we are.

Sophie & Ryan’s Wedding Photography at the Reid Rooms

As Sophie is a designer at a bridal magazine, she had seen our work a number of times before and we were delighted when they booked us as their official photographers!

Sophie & Ryan chose the beautiful Reid Rooms for their civil ceremony and reception venue and we were delighted to be there from bridal prep through to 1st dance, to capture the entire day!

We met with Sophie in the Reid Rooms Farm House where she and her 3 bridesmaids and mum were getting ready. Mark left me with the girls and went to find a cool and collected Ryan, while I stayed and captured the finishing touches of hair, make-up and of course of Sophie getting into her beautiful Ivory dress!

Whilst the weather wasn’t what the couple had hoped for, Sophie & her Dad braved the elements and made their way down the long Reid Rooms drive into the ceremony room, where a now slightly more nervous Ryan was waiting! After a short ceremony the couple exited the ceremony with a big umbrella and across into the main barn where their reception drinks and characturist were waiting!

blog1Fortunately we found a gap in the rain to go outside and get a great group shot of the whole wedding party and the throwing of confettti, followed by some beautiful and romantic shots of Sophie & Ryan around the grounds! One of my favourites is an elevated shot from the balcony shooting down onto the couple, but we took lots around the gardens and inside the farm house, which I hope they will love too!

I then left the happy couple while Mark stayed on to capture the speeches, first dance and guests enjoying the evening!

Another lovely day with a genuinely lovely couple! A big thank you to Sophie & Ryan for making us feel so welcome – we wish you every happiness for the future!

Ogechi’s & Kenneth’s Colourful African Wedding!

We were absolutely delighted when Kenneth & Ogechi chose us to photograph their big African Wedding! Not only were they a lovely couple but this was to be our first experience of an African Wedding!

The weather was perfect – a warm sunny day with bright blue skies! We met with Ogechi and her bridesmaids (& later her parents and a few friends!) at the Crown Plaza in London’s Docklands! The view from Ogechi’s balcony room was fantastic and allowed us the enviable backdrop for some natural reportage of a smiling Ogechi in the morning! We also took advantage of the scenery and popped outside with her 4 bridesmaids to get some lovely walking shots of the girls along the bank.

We left Ogechi to meet Kenneth and his entourage at the church – the courtyard was already brimming with a multitude of brightly coloured African dress, which is every photographers dream and whilst Mark took some great shots of the guys, I busied myself taking lots of fantastic reportage shots of the guests milling around and catching up with one another before the start of the ceremony!

blog1

After a beautiful ceremony with nearly 200 guests, we worked our way through the family shots, thanks to the excellent management of some very organised ushers, and then while the guests moved onto the reception venue (Stratford Town Hall) we took some quiet time in East Ham park to take some lovely romantic pictures of the happy couple!

Perhaps our favourite part of the day was back at the reception where all the guests were seated except the immediate family who then danced into the hall in their traditional African dress to traditional African music! The atmosphere was electric, the colours amazing and we both had smiles from ear to ear! After the parents had been seated it was then the turn of Kenneth & Ogechi with their friends to dance into the hall. It started with their friends and then from the middle came the newlyweds, who came to a stop in the middle with all their friends and family dancing around them! I also got caught up in the middle, just infront of them and found myself dancing whilst at the same time taking some great close in shots of their friends dancing and sharing the celebration!

blog2

The evening was filled with some great speeches, lots more music and dancing, including a tribal dance group and then the couple changed from their wedding attire into their new married African dress and again, were welcomed into the hall with more dancing and celebration! The partying went on until late in the evening and a great time was had by all!

We felt very welcome at the wedding thanks to Kenneth & Ogechi, their friends, family and all their guests who were delighted to fill us in on their African customs. We learnt a lot and were delighted to be a part of their big day! We hope they love their photo’s and wish them a very happy future together!
