Lauren & Andy’s Wedding Photography at Hanbury Manor

Lauren & Andy chose the beautiful St Francis Church, in Welwyn Garden City followed by the majestic Hanbury Manor for their Wedding reception and photography.

Both Lauren & Andy chose to get ready at Hanbury, which was fantastic for us as we were able to make the most of the beautiful grounds and features inside the hotel! I met with an excited Lauren and her bridesmaids upstairs in the Amy Suite, while Mark met with Andy and his groomsmen downstairs and spent some time with them around the grounds.

Lauren’s dress was absolutely stunning! Featuring a beautiful corset to show off Lauren’s tiny waist and intricate embroidery, she looked absolutely gorgeous! Andy looked rather dapper too and there was evidence of the family tartan in both the couple’s attire.

Lauren’s proud Dad escorted our lovely bride through the hotel and I remember hearing the ‘wow’s’ from the hotel guests as she passed!

A beautiful church ceremony followed at St Francis in Welwyn Garden City – the shots from the back showed off the beautiful interior, whilst Mark captured the couple beautifully from the front. One of my favourite shots is the confetti after the ceremony with the wide angle lens to capture as many of their friends and guests as was possible!

We photographed with Lauren & Andy during their reception and then again after their meal when the light was softer at the front of the hotel! It’s always a lovely time to take photographs after the meal when people are generally more relaxed and the sun is lower in the sky!

Mark stayed on to cover their first dance and we love some of the shots inside Poll’s Hall at Hanbury.

Every detail was perfect on this beautiful day, from the hand made stationary which Lauren and I chatted about on many occasions before the big day, to the couple supplying flip flops for their guests aching feet in the evening! A beautiful day from a beautiful couple – congratulations to Lauren & Andy and thank you to all their friends and family who made us feel so welcome! xx

Jo & Richard’s Wedding Photography at the Manor of Groves Hotel

Jo & Richard chose the beautiful Manor of Groves for their July Wedding and reception, and in contrast to the last time we were there (with snow up to our ankles!) the day was the hottest of the year!

We arrived to a very cool and calm Jo, getting ready in the bridal suit with her 2 bridesmaids and the 2 mums! I stayed with Jo, whilst Mark went to find a slightly more nervous Richard in the bar (of course!) and we each took photographs of the two of them before the ceremony! We find it’s a great time in the morning to take some really lovely natural shots and one of my favourites of Jo is a calm moment applying her lippy just before we went down to the ceremony, and a nice one of Richard looking out of the window and towards the outdoor ceremony.

The couple got married outside in the beautiful sunshine and I love the very romantic pictures from the back. From the other direction Mark was able to capture the bright blue skies and the look on both the couples and guests faces as the couple exchanged their vows! Another great reason for having 2 photographers!

After the ceremony, the couple had their reception drinks outside and we took a few very relaxed pictures in and around the grounds of the Manor of Groves. Below are a few favourites, including this funny one of Jo revealing her Tottenham Hotspurs blue garter, which caused much hilarity, especially to the contrasting supporters!

We stayed on to cover the speeches, which were both emotional and hilarious at the same time! A truly fantastic day with a really happy and friendly couple – we wish them both every happiness in their marriage and future together.

Alexandra & James – Wedding Photography at Fanhams Hall

Alexandra & James picked a beautiful day in June for their Wedding at St Mary’s Church in Cheshunt followed by their wedding reception at Fanhams Hall.

The sun was shining as we arrived at Alexandra’s Dad’s house to start the day with some bridal prep shots. Alex and her two bridesmaids were busy getting their hair and make-up done, whilst her poor Dad was delivering flowers to the venue! We took some lovely natural photographs of the girls getting ready and then headed off to the Church in Cheshunt where we were greeted by a rather nervous James at the pub!

The church was lovely and one of my favourite shots is from the back where I took this beautiful picture of the two exchanging their vows! I also love the confetti shot afterwards, which captures the natural happiness of the day!

Following the ceremony, we headed off to Fanhams Hall in Ware for their Wedding reception, where after a bit of relaxing and mingling with their guests we took the happily married couple for a walk around the grounds and some photographs of them both!

Some of my favourites are below. I caught this one of Alex as she was watching the guys having some pictures done, I love the middle one of Alex by the Chinese house, and the last of them both in the evening as the sun was setting – very romantic!

We had a lovely day with both the couple and their lovely family! We wish them all well and congratulations again to Alex and James! x

Julie & Adrian’s Wedding Photography at Fanhams Hall

Julie & Adrian chose the beautiful St Andrews in Stanstead Abbotts followed by Fanhams Hall for their wedding and reception.

We met with a calm Julie and her bridesmaids at her house in the morning where Rachel proved useful, not only with her camera skills but also by lending a helping hand with some rather tricky bridesmaid dress bows! Whilst the weather was wet, the spirits were high and we took some lovely shots of Julie and the girls getting ready!

We then made our way over to the church where we met with Adrian & the guys and took a few pictures outside of the church as well as inside, as a nervous Adrian waited with his best man for Julie to arrive!

We were only allowed to photograph from the back during the service, but we made the most of the lovely long aisle and stained glass windows at the front, which framed beautifully the couple exchanging their wedding vows.

Because of the weather we delayed the confetti until we got to Fanhams Hall (which was the right call!) and made our way to their reception venue where we were lucky enough to find a gap in the rain and go outside both for the big group & confetti shots and for Julie & Adrian’s photographs around the grounds! We have photographed at Fanhams Hall on a number of occasions but as we pulled up we found the most perfect spot with some pink blossom trees and pink blossom all on the ground, which matched perfectly with Julie’s flowers! We took lots of very romantic shots in this area and a couple of our favorites are below.

We also made the most of Fanhams beautiful interior with this lovely shot of Julie looking out of the large windows, showing off the back of her beautiful dress!

Mark stayed on to cover the speeches and first dance and left the happy couple dancing away!

Thanks again to Julie, Adrian and their family for making us feel so welcome! We hope you had a lovely honeymoon and wish you every happiness for the future!

Steph & Dan’s Wedding Photography at Hanbury Manor (Garden Court)

Steph & Dan chose the beautiful and impressive Hanbury Manor for their big day and had both their ceremony and reception in the exclusive Garden Court!

I met with the girls in the main house, who were extremely excited and even more so because the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day! I stayed with Steph while she had her hair and make-up done and dressed for her big day, while Mark went down to the Golf Club to photograph Dan and his attendants relaxing with a beer in and around the grounds.

The ceremony took place in the conservatory, which always makes for beautiful shots with the distinctive chequered floor and doors open to the gardens. The reception then spilled out into the walled gardens and we took some very romantic and beautiful photographs in and around the court.

Some of my favourite shots are above – the daffodils had just come out, which made for a lovely arty shot with the happy couple in the background, and I love the pictures with the pink cherry blossoms framing the shots.

Steph & Dan were great fun on the day and we had lots of laughs together! We wish them a fantastic honeymoon and happy marriage together!

Best wishes,

Rachel & Mark

Hayley & Peter’s Wedding Photography at Parklands

Hayley & Peter chose the beautiful Parklands, Quendon Park for their Wedding and were blessed with one of the finest days of the year so far! The sun came out and you’d have been forgiven for thinking it was Spring already, which was great as it allowed us to venture out and about in the Parkland grounds to take some beautiful photographs of the happy couple! I always enjoy weddings at Parklands, and this was no exception – the day was fun from start to finish and Hayley & Peter were a lovely couple who were happy to dedicate some time to their photography, which allowed me to take the beautiful shots below. Congrats to Hayley & Peter and all the best for a wonderful future together!

Front cover & Gemma & John’s Wedding in ‘An Essex Wedding’ Magazine!

This month we were delighted to get both the front cover and the ‘real wedding’ of Gemma & John published in the December issue of ‘An Essex Wedding’ Magazine!

We photographed Gemma & John’s wedding at the lovely Maiden’s Barn and our Editor selected the pictures for the magazine, including the front cover shot of Gemma at her hotel!

We love the new layout, which the magazine have just introduced and hope that Gemma & John will love the coverage they got! It’s always lovely when we get our work published and this issue is a great one to be in – we hope you like it!

A BIG THANKYOU – Lucy & Neil, Fanhams Hall

As you have probably guessed by now, Rachel and I passionately love photographing Weddings, but the one thing which genuinely makes all the hard work and effort worthwhile is when our couples take the time to give us such wonderful feedback! Wedding photography is seriously hard work – it goes way beyond just turning up on the day and proofing back the photos, and to get such lovely comments from our couples, makes all the hard work worthwhile!

The first email of the day was from Lucy and Neil Storey, who’s Wedding we photographed at Fanhams Hall, back in June. It was a fantastic day and we were so happy to be a part of it!

Here’s the email:

Hi Rachel & Mark,
We’re just dropping you a quick line to Thank you for everything you did for our wedding day photos!
The whole package you guys provide is superb, from the initial meeting you put us at ease and you have this knack of making people feel like they’ve known you for ages.
On the big day we couldn’t have asked for more – such a friendly but truly professional service.
The proofs are brilliant, we’re still dead pleased we bought the CD too because we couldn’t bear to lose any of them – both sets of our parents love them too and are showing them off at every opportunity they get!
We’re absolutely thrilled with the Storybook, we couldn’t have imagined it would turn out as well as it has – Fab design skills Rachel!!
Also we were well chuffed with the magazine article in Herts & Beds Wedding – we hope our comments in there did you both justice too.

So Thanks again for everything

Lucy & Neil (Storey)

Rach & I always work hard at Weddings to give our couples everything they could possibly ask for, and we were dead chuffed to get this email today which we thought we’d share with you! Big thanks to Lucy & Neil for the feedback and we wish them both a long and happy marriage!

Josie & James – Wedding photography at Ponsbourne Park

Josie and James had their Wedding at the gorgeous Ponsbourne Park. It was the first time we had shot a Wedding there together and I was really impressed by both its location and suitability for Weddings. We were there for the whole day so Mark covered the guys and I went up to the girls before the ceremony. The couple were blessed with a perfect summers day and got married outside on the gazebo, which made for some wonderful shots, then we did the family shots on the semi circular steps at the back of Ponsbourne and various couples shots around the beautiful grounds. Josie and James were a lovely couple and we really enjoyed their day! Mark continued coverage into the evening and captured their first dance along with the energetic dancing which followed! Perfect!

Susan & Mark – Wedding Photography at Maidens Barn

Susan and Mark chose the lovely Maiden’s Barn for their Wedding ceremony and reception. Susan got ready in the beautiful farm house behind the barn and we met Mark in the courtyard for some shots before all their guests arrived. The sun shone throughout and I’ve never seen so much confetti handed out as at this wedding, which made for a great shot in the garden! We also took some lovely romantic shots indoors including some from the balcony photographing downwards onto the happy couple.
