Today is our little girl’s 1st Birthday and Rachel has been dying to try a cake smash for ages and to introduce them as part of a package with our sister company, Smile Baby!
She baked her a giant cupcake and topped it with buttery icing and spinkles to make it extra appealing, then watched with delight as she dipped her finger gingerly into the icing and into her mouth, followed by bigger and bigger scoops until the cake was all over the place! She was a sticky mess so we then popped into a nice bubble bath and finished off the montage with a picture from there! We’re really pleased with it and Rachel will be shortly launching a cake smash package for 1,2 and 3 year olds!
We hope you like it! Happy Birthday Abigail! xx
We’ve been busy busy the last few weeks, not just with Weddings but also School Photographs, Product Photography, Newborn Shoots and a Christmas Mini Session!
Last year we created a separate company called Smile Baby which specialises in all of these other categories but of course, this does mean that you don’t always get to see some of the results! So as this little fella was so cute, I thought I’d just add a link to our latest newborn session – click on the image below to meet baby Tommy and to see some of his pictures from the home session! Enjoy x
I love doing newborn shoots and was delighted to be asked to come and take pictures of baby Ruby, just 10 days old! Newborn shoots are best taken any during the first two weeks, preferably around 7-10 days, when the baby sleeps a lot and stays in the curled up position, which enables us to get those lovely curled up shots.
Here’s a little sneak peak from Ruby’s shoot, modelling one of my newest baby hats (I’m starting a major collection here!). Such a cutie – enjoy! xx
Baby Ruby - newborn shoot (10 days)
We photographed proud parents Michelle & Andy’s Wedding a couple of years ago and so, we were delighted when they got back in touch to announce the safe arrival of Baby Kalvin and to enquire about a baby portrait session for him at their home!
I was delighted to have the opportunity as it’s a favourite area of mine and baby Kalvin was a real cutie! At around 6 weeks old he was absolutely adorable with a very cheeky little smile! I used purely natural light (no flash) and worked with Michelle and Andy to ensure Kalvin was happy and content (the secret to good baby photography!). I took lots of shots but below are a few of my favourites.
For many years we have been asked to do portrait work, but haven’t really had the time to do them in addition to our weddings, but I finally gave in this week and did our first newborn portrait session, which I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed!
Our aim with all our photography is to keep it natural and with newborns, this is all the more essential, so I went armed with my kit and a few blankets and took some really lovely pictures of baby Amelie using purely natural light, no flash or studio equipment and all in the comfort of their own home!
I’m really pleased with the results and I’ve put together a few of my favourites below!
