Katy & Matt were among the first lucky couples to get married at Hatfield Place; a lovely new and exclusive wedding venue, just outside of Chelmsford.
We arrived to a lovely warm reception from the girls, who were all happily getting ready in one of the gorgeous bedrooms upstairs in the main house. We instantly fell in love with the rooms with their big windows and beautiful decor, knowing they would make for some beautiful pictures of Bride Katy and her bridesmaids. Matt was having an equally chilled out morning in the pub just down the road, but soon arrived, cool as a cucumber to get dressed for the big day!
The weather couldn’t make up it’s mind! One minute we had wall-to-wall sunshine and the next was torrential rain, however as everything was all held in one place, it didn’t matter one bit and the couple got married in a civil ceremony infront of their wedding party. Exiting to huge applause, the happy couple, their children and guests all left the room and were met with drinks and canape’s for all to enjoy!
After giving the happy couple some time with their guests, we found our break in the weather and went outside with Katy and Matt, where we made the most of the lovely grounds, the bluebells and spring sunshine before returning just in time for another rain shower!! It cleared again and we managed to do all our family pictures on the back terrace, before once again returning inside for another shower! Phew!
As the evening approached, Katy and Matt braved the freezing cold wind for a couple of twilight/night shots, and we were all rewarded with some gorgeous images, which they were so excited for. We do love showing off our off-camera flash skills and creating some real masterpiece shots, which I have no doubt will already be on their walls! 🙂
The couple entered the dance floor to huge applause and a reveal of their cake, which had been kept a secret by their 2 boys, who had decorated it themselves! This was then followed by their first dance and a night of dancing, which went on all night!
We couldn’t have asked for a happier or more welcoming couple, a better new venue with lovely staff and amazing food or a nicer day! OK, perhaps we could have done with less rain showers, but otherwise it was the most perfect day! 🙂
We can’t wait to visit Hatfield Place again! Thank you to Michelle, Ian and Alison for everything!
